I presume this is a question? Kmix is not recording anything, it shows you the active sound channels and allows you to change their volume.
Well, as said above, Kmix is not a recording software, and currently I don't know of any KDE specific software for recording sound. Of course you can use any other Linux based software, it should work on the KDE Plasma desktop as well.
