I use Pisi Linux 1.0 KDE on an ASUS X552E notebook and system sounds are mostly ultra loud. It doesn't matter if the volume is turned down as my computer somehow forgets the settings.
What is my problem? Is this caused by the malice of PulseAudio? (FYI I use Phonon-GStreamer)

did this happen after an upgrade? or always?
I had something similar after a re-install where my volume was alway @ 1/2 after a boot, to fix it I renamed ~/.pulse/ and ~/.config/pulse. Also, try renaming ~/.kde/share/config/knotifyrc |

I experienced this on a freshly installed Pisi Linux.
