Hi,
when I use my cell phone as modem on my computer, audio playback starts changing its speed and pitch once in a while. It sounds like a record player where you touch the edge of the record to slow down the rotation speed just a tiny bit. This change in pitch and speed occurs every few minutes. Once I unplug the cell phone, everything is fine again. Has anyone seen such a behaviour? Cheers |

You should give a few more information about your system (version, plasma version) and what type of files your are trying to play (local, remote, stream).
Since Amarok doesn't play sound itself, this is very likely not directly Amarok related, but might be a problem with phonon or your connection (if you play something remote or a stream).
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Sorry for having been so terse.
I am playing just local mp3, ogg and opus files. Amarok is 2.8.0, the about dialog says: KDE 4.14.26 Othr versons are: phonon(4qt5)-backend-vlc - 0.9.0 phonon(4qt5) - 4:4.9.0 plasma-desktop - 4:5.8.6 It's a Debian Sid system. Since I am seeing this on two different computers (Laptop/Intel, Desktop/AMD), and since this is happening for about a year now, I thought, it's not a temporary issue with my hardware or software versions installed. |

Thank you for the additional information. I am moving this to the general Multimedia forum, as it is very likely not Amarok related as Amarok itself doesn't play sound but just uses what Phonon provides.
