Hi matthewandino,

Sometimes the "not enough memory" message is displayed when the actual situation is that some function which is supposed to create a new object of some kind returns a null object, yet does not return any error code at all.
I share a link which give possible solution to recover Illustrator file, I hope it serves you: https://onlinefile.repair/en/illustrator.html

And how is this related to KDE? Please do not ask questions about proprietary software not related to our forum.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
