Hello
I am more and more difficult work with Scribus. For some of it, I have to align top or bottom pictures or text in various places. One can do this with helplines, but once you are over about 10 of them the whole thing becomes quite disorderly. Until I had the idea to work with KRuler and it sort of works. However, I would be very, very, very happy, if I could fix the ruler on top of my designs and not every time below. This would allow me to, say, pull a picture with the mouse to the correct place AND SEE IT IMMEDIATELY, whereas today it becomes sort of a «lucky pull». Question: is it possible to fix KRuler as the top layer on a screen and when YES how would I do this? I did examinate KRuler severall times but found nothing. Neither is there such a possibility in the dedicated Help.

KRuler has an "Always on top" setting. (Right Click on ruler -> Configure -> Advanced) http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/264796af That screen shot is using KRuler 17.08.3, but the setting has been there for as long as I remember, so is applicable to the version you have. There was an unconfirmed bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381975 that the state of that setting is not saved, although "it works for me". |

Sorry, but I don't have this, just the «native movement».
How do include a screenshot?

OK. Sorry you have an older version than I thought.
Try creating a window rule for kruler: First start KRuler, then: System Settings -> Window Behaviour -> Window Rules -> New (Window Matching Tab) http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/2ec8c2a4 Set an appropiate name (Description) for the rule, for example "KRuler - Keep Above" Detect Window Properties (cursor changes to a cross) Cursor over KRuler with the cross and left click. Information About Selected Window is shown. http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/7d8f37a9 Select OK. Select "Arrangement & Access" Tab Set: "Keep above" "Force" "Yes" http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/67692cd5 Select OK When returned to "Window Rules" Select "Apply" Close Window Settings. Close and restart KRuler, which should now remain above other windows. To include a screenshot you need to upload the image(s) to a third party hosting site and then include the URL here. |

Thank you very much for your answer and apologies for answering just now.
I think I could follow your description until Window Rules -> New However, I don't find any mention for kruler. When I continue with OK, I get the message «Sie haben eine Fensterklasse als unwichtig gekennzeichnet. Which one should I mark of that list on your screeny?

Time has passed and I have a new installation of the 14.04-5.
Here I could follow your directions and learned to look at the pictures and all was really an affair for a few minutes. Thank you very much for your very useful help. Also for the way i can put pictures into the Forum. Some allow them as attachment, I am more used to that way.
