Same issue with Kaffeine Version 2.0.15-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build4, but the same version does have a TV section in other distros (eg. opensuse L150).
Boo Hoo, some of us miss our easy KDE desktop TV ... However DVB-T does work with VLC, so Kaffeine TV may be possible. Good if someone could fix this. In the mean time, to watch DVB-T with KDE neon+18.04+bionic+build4, use VLC instead. Google it. * or see: https://davidzou.com/articles/streaming ... t-with-vlc * or give w-scan a go, it's slow but it generates a VLC readable xml channels playlist. Save with .xspf extension and open with VLC. Hope this helps a few other addicts ... T |

If you install the version for Ubuntu 18.10 (available from https://pkgs.org/download/kaffeine) you should get the DVB option back. It didn't work at first, so I deleted all the channels, then did a complete removal in Synaptic before installing the new version. It then worked normally.

Thanks. Neon is based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, so: Downloaded https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/18.04/ubuntu-un ... _amd64.deb Installed with dpkg -i Kaffeine DVB-T now works as expected. One question (It is over 10 years since I used Debian, so very rusty!) apt-get install -f shows:
I expect some of these may be cleaned up with a restart, so I did nothing. What would a competent Debian user do? |

Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them. |

Thanks. Will do. For the thread: Today Neon 'Discover' package manager offered Kaffeine version 2.0.15 Installed, but still no DVB-T section. (Just curious, but why is this so?) Manually reinstalled kaffeine_2.0.14-1_amd64.deb, all good. And another 'dumb' question. I know it can be done in apt-get, but Is there a way to 'lock' packages (prevent install, update) in 'Discover'? |

Hello
Being new with KDE Neon after a very long period about 19 years with Kubuntu (present version 14,04) i have to change. KDE impressed me much more than Kubuntu and I give it a good trial. i am using a satellite TV installation and it seems I can not install the TV part. But as I need this possibility for my work, I am dependent of it. What did I do? … Install the application … copied the content of ~/.kde/share/apps/kaffeine/sqlite.db … Installed the firmware for my technotrend dvb-S at /lib/firmware the file dvb-ttpci-01.fw …checked music and films from my computer, both work perfectly. However, as I am not at all somebody to use the Konsole very often, practically only for installing programs, I did really not understand the above way around and hope that a good person will help me with it in Details.
