[KDE4.X] Dragonplayer

Fri Nov 21, 2008 9:28 pm
If i watch a divx/xvid it often skips a part of the movie , if i go back to that scene it plays normal again, it is totally random. ATM using kubuntu 8.10 and don't know if its a codec, distro our a dragon problem, dropped arch kde4.2 atm so can't test it in there. Anyone has the same behavior?

Dragonplayer is based on Phonon. So it's unlikely to be a dragon problem.
I have this behaviour, too, from time to time. But mostly it is because of a corrupted file, maybe rebuilding the index could help? Just a guess.

Ok thxs will try that, but the strange thing it doesn't happen in VLC our mplayer. But will try some different thing to track it down.

i use smplayer. the way to prevent this from happening is to increase the buffers/caches.
