The explanation is in the terms: Graphic software is used to display and/or produce graphic content, e.g. drawings (which is usually static), Multimedia software is used to display and/or produce multimedia content, e.g. sound/music, films/movies (which is usually dynamic). There is also software doing both, of course, but not necessarily.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
