Hi all,
Kaffeine plays the videos but all I see is a green screen. The audio is normal. Searching the Web, I found that the problem is due to the use of graphics acceleration. I found some solutions to disable it, but none of them worked. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks. Some infos: Kaffeine 2.0.18 Libraries - KDE Frameworks 5.78.0 - Qt 5.15.2 (built against 5.15.2)
Starting Kaffeine from console ... Default settings
Settings > Configure Kaffeine > libVLC: --no-video-title-show -V xcb_glx
Settings > Configure Kaffeine > libVLC: --no-video-title-show -V xcb_xv

Unless you're using kvantum application style and kaffeine is not set to be ignored, it's more than likely a driver problem. If so, you'll have a green screen in most of video players. If you're by any chance running MX, check if you have the necessary codecs as well.
This realm's name is Maya. And she speaks Hertz. But Ahamkara makes a fuzz about it.

Kvantum theme isn't installed on my system.
No installed package have kvantum in the name.
Yes, I have the same problem with VLC which I solved by working on its settings (*) Dragon Player seems to have no problem in playing videos. Right now my workaround is to just use VLC to watch TV on my PC but I would prefer to use Kaffeine: for TV is more user friendly. (*) Tools > Preferences > Input / Codecs > Hardware Acceleration Decoding (OK with): - VDPAU - VA-API via DRM - Disable Thanks |
