Code: Select all
ctl.equal {
        type equal;
}

pcm.plugequal {
        type equal;
        slave.pcm "plughw:0,0";
}

pcm.!default {
        type plug;
        slave.pcm plugequal;
        hint {
                show on
                description "Default"
        }
}

This is my /etc/asound.conf, and I can't choose Default pcm in Phonon system settings, in system settings I've got only this:

Try ticking "Show Advanced Devices". Otherwise it is just happening automatically ( Default device is probably selected automatically )

The only thing I can recommend is filing a feature request / bug report for this. There is probably a good reason behind this. ( It probably does not want to deal with Pseudo devices )
