hi,
I',m want to use Juk as my audioplayer, since amarok2 is not available yet, anyway, I normally can not see the title that's currently playing. on screenshots of juk the current title informations seems to be right under the title seekbar, I don't have any title information tough... |

I have the title information bar. It may have been added in 4.1 or 4.2. It is highly recommended to upgrade to KDE 4.2.

Sorry, i should have mentioned that I am using JuK 3.2.1 on KDE 4.2.0 (x64_86).
sometimes the title information bar does show up; this doesn't happen very often and it's gone after one song. Unfortunately I can't reproduce when it shows up and when it doesn't. the history doesn't work either, also juk stops playing after each title, accept when the title information bar showed up the song. I already tried to delete all of juk config files, didn't help. after selecting a song, I get this output on konsole: QImage::scaled: Image is a null image QPixmap::scaled: Pixmap is a null pixmap Reading tag for QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified juk(31550): Couldn't resolve the mime type of " "" " -- this shouldn't happen.

That last line indicates the JuK is having issues with your Music files. Do they have any unusual characters, etc. in them?

I don't think that theres any unusual. amarok 1.4 had no problem with my music files

Try rebuilding the information cache:

I get loads of:
kbuildsycoca4(7187) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry MimeType in "/usr/share/applications /qt4-designer.desktop" is not compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon). kbuildsycoca4(7187) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry MimeType in "/usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop" is not compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon). is that a problem? |

No that is usual. Too many applications don't bother with following the XDG standard properly. Does JuK work properly now?

unfortunaltly it didn't help at all. arch linux has an issue with the sql package so amarok2 doesn't work.

Given that I build from SVN, this might be a bug that was fixed shortly after the release of KDE 4.2. More likely however, is that your Music files have damaged Mime Type data, which prevents JuK from handling them correctly. You may wish to bulk convert them using a tool such as ffmpeg, which will set the Mime Type data correctly.

hey!
the juk package is somehow broken in kde 4.2.0 this was causing my problem. my media files are fine. yesterday I found a thread in the kdemod forum about this. they already fixed the package, the one from svn is fine.Guess in 4.2.1 it will be okay Thanks, Daniel |
