a have a vostro 1400 and installed kde4.2(not kdemod) from archilinux, and just tray the multimedia keys(vol up, vol down, mute) and works out the box :-O

no 3trd apps required, only works. other things to just love kde4.2 :shade:

only miss a good tool to configure my touchpad, because im not using xorg.conf and the keyboard works very well using the control center dialog, the same with composite(aiglx).
