No idea why, but as of recent my Amarok is refusing to play any files. Although my music collection is on a NFS share this not seem to be problem as copying the files to a local directory and then adding that as a collection gets me the very same "Too many errors encountered in playlist. Playback has stopped" Playlist itself is created via rightclicking the collection and choosing "append to playlist". Recreated the playlist many times, as well as changing/reloading the collection itself several times to no avail. SMPlayer is playing the very same directory just fine so I can only assume it's a bug somewhere in amarok.

Software does not "break" from one day to the other, so there must be some other changes in your system. Please ask on our forum or mailing list instead.
So here I am, smplayer and audacious can play the files just fine. Dolphin and konqueror have no problems with the files or the directories either. Whole directory is chmod 777 as it's a samba share as well |

try to access the folders on your NFS share...
if you are able to access them...amarok will definitely play them..... one more scenario, sometimes this problem comes when amarok can't find right codec to play file...

Like I posted, they're fine for everything but Amarok, even copying it over to /home/ doesn't help. It wont play wma's, mpa, mp3, flac m4c, ape.. well let's say any file I happen to have.
I'll check out tonight, when Im back on my favorite OS again, forced to use vista atm to get work done. (Writing java on the 1.7 Preview is a bad idea..) -Thanks. |

Backends Xine and Gstreamer are both showing up just fine there. Don't see any test option though, so can't tell if they function properly.
Changed the order to preference order and put Gstreamer above Xine, relogged, tried Amarok again.. no nothing, no error, no sound, no moving progress bar. |

Have you installed restricted codecs? They are required for a majority / all of the above files. Otherwise ensure that another system has not locked the Audio system ( Pulseaudio in particular )
You may also want to ensure that the Correct output device is also selected ( If Pulseaudio is available on your system it should be in the list )
