kio_audiocd hangs when changing CDs

Mon Mar 23, 2009 8:22 pm
Hi,
to rip audio CDs I used Konqui or now also Dolphin at KDE4.2 just with the kio_audiocd plugin which worked and is working.

BUT: currently I have got a lot of CDs that are due to be stored on my PC so I realized a strange behavior from kio_audiocd. After changing from one CD to another it is not possible to update the titles shown for the CD. So the new CD still shows the titles from the previous one also when trying to refresh, change folders ... . Only thing that helps so far is to kill kio_audiocd and then do a refresh view in Dolphin. The titles of the new CD are now displayed and copied correctly.

So I have got ksysguard and Dolphin running. After one CD copy finished I switch to ksysguard, kill the kio_audiocd, back to Dolphin and refresh the new CD view - until the next CD. It works somehow but is a bit annoying.

Anybody with the same experience and if so any suggestions or workarounds?
Is my assumption right that it should update the CD information when I put in a new one or did I just miss something?

Using openSUSE 11.1 with latest KDE4.2 from the SUSE Repos.

Thanks,
OsZ

It appears that the KIO slave is remaining after the CD is ejected. Please file this as a bug report, if one does not already exist.

Thanks.

I checked this with my 2nd box as well (openSUSE + latest KDE4.2) showing the same.

Anybody else getting this ? Will send a bug report anyway but a confirmation from another system / Distri would bring some confidence this is a general issue ...
