Hello,
I'm using KDE 4.2.1 on Archlinux. My problem is, that KMix is launched on each startup. In addition, whenever I connect or disconnect a multimedia device (USB sound card etc.) it pops up. How can I prevent KMix from being started automatically? Thank you!

There's an option in kde 4.2.2 to stop kmix from autostarting by right clicking the kimx icon.
If you don't have kde4.2.2 yet then, you can try doing it manually. Edit .kde4/share/config/kmixrc and add this to the [Global] section: AutoStart=false |

Thank you for your answers.
@Howl: The solution described in the bug tracker is very ugly and also does not work for me. @medo3891: I did exactly what you said, but nothing changes.... (I'm running KDE 4.2.2)

Did you try both the solutions described there at the same time? It worked for me.

What's the output of this in terminal:
grep autostart-condition /usr/share/autostart/kmix_autostart.desktop Edit: it just hit me, did you quit kmix? if you don't quit it then it'll be saved in the session and will start when you log in again, the same way that when you leave a konqueror window open when you log out it'll reopen when you log in I hope this works.

Ah, I closed it but it continued running somehow and was therefore started again on logon...
After killing it manually it has completely disappeared! Thank you!
