Why build Qt without phonon support?

Thu Apr 23, 2009 10:04 am
according to this:

http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/qt-copy/REA ... iew=markup

their is a "-no-phonon" in the recommended configuration for Qt compiling, but no reason told. Does anyone know something about this?

When building qt-copy it is assumed you also want the latest Phonon from kdesupport.

You can of course build qt-copy with Phonon and leave out Phonon when building kdesupport.

Cheers,

Yeah, the version of Phonon shipped by KDE is generally further ahead in terms of bugfixes/features than the copy shipped by Qt.
