[SOLVED] kubuntu 904 (64) creative webcam works in gnome apps but not in kde apps

this is the dmesg output (just to provide more information about the creative webcam.. it works fine in cheese and ekiga but not at all in kopete or kdenlive ..

Try starting it like this:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete

(replace "kopete" with the KDE app that uses the webcam)


Get problems solved faster - get reply notifications through Jabber!

thats the solution .. thank you... the funny thing is.. i already knew this workaround because i had to use it in kubuntu intrepid ibex for all gtk programs... lol.. i don't really understand the problem.. why do i have to preload this library? why isn't this done already if it is necessary for kde apps..

should i report a bug (or search if its already done :-) )
