Kubuntu sound problems

Fri May 15, 2009 9:34 pm
I got Kubuntu 9.04 (AMD64) and I have some problems with sound.

1. WAV files are not playing. Amarok freezes, Dragon Player does nothing and System Sound can not play WAV files either.

2. Firefox / Konqueror has flash (it installed automatically), but no sound. SOLVED: the channel was off in mixer.

Any ideas?

cat /proc/asound/card*/codec* | grep Codec results in:
Codec: Realtek ALC889A
Codec: ATI ATI R6xx HDMI
