i am looking for application (kde application preferred) which allows easy creation of 2D anime style animation (more advanced than presentation app but less than blender)
by easy i mean - drawing the start and end of each scene as SVGs (or the like) and defining motion paths so the computer makes all the intermediate itself import / export to standard vector graphics formats is advantage (ie to create manga along with the anime without doing 2X the work) video rendering does not have to be realtime. but the rendered video has to be of good quality (high fps and without flickering in moving parts) |

Have you found something like this yet? I have a similar project proposal that requires this add on

I don't know much of animation but have you tried the Animation plugin for the Gimp? If that doesn't suit your needs, there's a program called Synfig Studio that may fit the bill. Gtk-based unfortunately, but I'm not aware of a KDE/Qt animation program.

I think you can have a look at:
http://dridk.blogspot.com/2009/08/karicature.html They use svgs an you can add ifg you want new ones to the Lisst of availabel ones by creating new one and animate them there.

I wouldn't call it "easy", but the functionality you're looking for can be found in Synfig Studio, the GPL 2d animation studio app. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but has some powerful features. Be warned, a recent version of Ubuntu (Karmic?) had bad packages in the repos, so if your install doesn't work, check their forums. Most distros package it just as "synfig".
