Ok, in the provided link someone (who is "Duncan"???) recommend the use of a really nice app called smplayer, and you inferred from there that kaffeine is dead because...

Is it a joke ? => info dated Fri, 02/15/2008 This why Kaffeine 4 is now claimed to be dead by many users, especially if nobody is working on it ! Nobody is really complaining of smplayer as far as I know. |

L_V's opinions bear no weight whatsoever. Kaffeine has not been promised overnight. The developer did indicate that it would take some considerable time. There are plenty of other applications around that may meet your needs, so while you wait for the new Kaffeine, why not try some of them? It's not necessary, and probably not even desirable, to use only one application from a genre.
