record speech with microphone

Thu Dec 24, 2009 7:59 am
How do you record speech with a microphone?
In KDE-3.5.X there was an application called krec (or krecord), I'm looking for something similar (or better :).
My system is KDE-4.3.4 slackware-current.
Can anyone suggest a good application as I'm not very familiar with KDE-4 yet. Preferably something that is KDE or Qt based, I try to avoid gtk if I can :)
Thanks,
robert

from the site http://slackbuilds.org/ there are a list of editors to choose from, some gtk and some not.
* Ardour - professional editor
* Audacity - fairly robust editor (gtk2)
* mhwaveedit - light weight graphical interface, with SoX backend.

I think this Editor: Ardour is more useful. it have many function that permit you to record and edit sound smoothly.
