Where is the audio mixer?

Fri Feb 26, 2010 1:52 am
I run Freebsd 8.0-RELEASE KDE 4.3.5

and I'm missing the audio mixer. Where it is?

Searching for kde4 and kmix does not help. And I found no freebsd-port or widget.

What is the state of art mixing and adjusting volume under KDE4 when using KMPlayer?

Do you have the needed OSS headers installed?

On FreeBSD, I believe the Audio System used is OSS. This may be included as part of the kernel headers also.

OSS is there, but no Audio Mixer in KDE4

Code: Select all
> pkg_info | grep "Sound System"
oss-4.2.b2002_2     Open Sound System

kdemultimedia-4.3.1_1 KDE Multimedia applications was missing. Kmix Version 3.5 is included.
