Hi. Just want to say a final thank you and a success report for other users, as it seems this page has gotten some hits. I posted on the Debian user forums, and someone suggested I unselect 'analog/digital output jack' in alsamixer by pressing "M". This solved it in the end, but I had to reinstall packages and rebuild kernel modules before that.
For other users of Debian:

I suggest doing package configuring/reinstalling first, then kernel module building/installation, ie. according to the order of the above commands. Check the sound output to your software always. Took awhile, but success ensued. |
