I've freshly installed opensuse 11.2 with 4.4.3, but i can't get audio working. Each time i boot kde says: The device X is not working, falling back to Y. Tomorrow i'll give u more information. I've tried everything, but i have the same message..Tell me what can i do:) Tomorrow i'll give you the hardware spec :)

No pulseaudio running..

Please check that your user is a member of the appropriate group, usually the 'audio' group, to allow write access to sound devices.

I had to reinstall opensuse from scratch..nothing could help me..however seems to be a problem related to some old libs which are not the expected ones
