Kuickshow stopped working properly (could be the 4.5rc or my upgrade to openSuse 11.3)
It opens and functions and the aside preview works fine (image in the app window) but if I open the view window by clicking the image title the result is garbage (same result if from Dolphin I use open with kuickshow when right clicking). running kuickshow-0.9.1 (the qt4 version) Also app crashes when closing thanks, |

Just tested it on a test-installation of Kubuntu 10.04, using 4.5 rc2 from a beta-repo and kuickshow from the kubuntu equivalent of home:/ repos. I can't reproduce those issues so it at the very least is not KDE 4.5's fault. I will try in OpenSUSE 11.3 as soon as I've upgraded to it (probably tomorrow).

Kryten2X4B - you'll need imlib (imlib2 won't work) and there's no 11.3 rpm (that I could find) so you'll need to compile it. Probably need to compile kuickshow also, there's a factory rpm but no 11.3

Hmm...in 11.2 it could be found at http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... tro_Stable so maybe it just hasn't had time to build just yet?
Oh well. If it's not there when I've installed 11.3 I'll compile it myself. No biggie.

saw a page on openSuse build service where all occurrences of kuickshow were "failed", probably lack of lmlib

Okay, I've now tried using openSUSE 11.3 (64-bit) and KDE 4.5 rc2 (using the unstable KDE repos, 4.4.93 as of now), plus having compiled both imlib and kuickshow.
It works, but is a bit unstable. That is, I get a crash when the app closes but I haven't been able to re-produce distorted image syndrome you described. Do you get that for all images or just some?

all images are distorted, even tested 2nd user (but aside panel is always fine)
where'd you get imlib source and kuickshow source? tried 2 versions of imlib 1.9.14 and 1.9.15 using 4.4.93 also also diff q - you have any problems with Lancelot on openSuse? thanks a bunch |

Well, I got the Imlib source from ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/i ... 15.tar.bz2 (linked to from the Kuickshow userbase article at http://userbase.kde.org/KuickShow). For some reason the ./configure script didn't obey my given installation prefix though so I had to manually move the installed files from /usr/lib to /usr/lib64.
I grabbed the kuickshow source from the 11.2 source-rpm from the repo I linked to above and just unpacked it and compiled it as usual. All dependencies installed from the 11.3 repos. Sorry, haven't had time to try Lancelot in 11.3 yet. I had no problems with it in 11.2 though. First I need to try figure out why 11.3 rather too often forgets I have a monitor attached...it just goes black as if powersave mode kicked in. Only that it won't wake up again...

didn't notice they went to /usr/local/lib but moving made no difference to me
though my update from 11.2 went very smoothly it appears that there's a issue or 2 I can't fix or find the cause of (11.2 was a clean install). thanks, |
