What about writing a bogus-backend which just wraps into QtMultimedia libs?
Because it would be nice and easy to use IF ANY of the phonon backends would support the functionality which the phonon methods promise...

We could just write a backend called "Native" which wraps phonon calls into QtMultimedia.
