Hi all,
Recently i've got an P7H55 M Pro motherboard with i7 860, with my old config all works great on kde 4.5.3, now i've a problem related to phonon, the device list is empy, i cold see 3 device, but without name on System Settings -> Multimedia -> Phonon, Alsa works great, all channels are recognized and applications could works with alsa. I've not pulseaudio, neither jackd. These are the use flag with i complied packages i suppose are involved in this issue:
My uname:
Kernel is patched with headphone mute/unmute & audio level patch, but the problem exists before this patch. My audio chipset is: Intel-hda-audio Realtek ALC892 This is my alsamixer: http://yfrog.com/12alsamixerworkingp On the follow link you could see last device selected but without name: http://yfrog.com/ncphononnodevicesp On the follow link you could see 2nd device selected but without name: http://yfrog.com/g9phononmessage1p My user had the following groups, but i try to log as root user and result is the same as images linked before:
This is lspci details for my audio device
This is my alsa kernel config:
I've deleted lot of time phonondevicesrc, all the kde .kde4 directory and also .config/kde.org/, with no results. This is my actual phonondevicesrc:
I try to find who create this file around google, but with no results. .xsession-errors does not seems helpfull, but from login to systemsettings menu reports following issues:
So my situations is: - no audio on kde - empty devices on my Multimedia -> Phonon List - on login to kde, the system say "Device stop working, falling on device ." - phonondevicesrc has entry not showed on Multimedia -> Phonon List I've already posted on gentoo forum, but with no success, no one answer me. Where i'm wrong? Any help is appreciated. |

Can you please paste the output of "solid-hardware list"? If it outputs nothing, you probably need to install HAL. UPower/UDisks/UDev support is still experimental, and is being worked on for KDE 4.6.

I've not tried to create a new fresh user, but... what could be change? phonon does not work neither with root user
The device list is populated with 3 device with no name, i think could be a recognize bug/missconfiguration. I will try to create a new fresh user adding all the groups of the first, i will report here asap. If could be helpfull i've try removing hardware database, phononsourcerc, and even all .kde and .config/kde.org/ directory after a full rebuild of all kde environment, but no success. I grope in the dark. I'm thinking to downgrade to kde 4.4... |

Which Phonon backend do you have selected under your normal user? See System Settings > Multimedia > Phonon.
