Hi,

I managed to build KDE 4.6.0 in my slackware 13.1 from sources. I had to install some dependencies like udisks and upower. Currently it runs fine however with some small issues, one of them is that the phonon Backends list is empty.

I built and installed phonon 4.4.3 (required by kdebase-runtime) it created both gstreamer and xine backends. The files are in /usr/local/kde460/lib/kde4/plugins/phonon_backend. I also have QT_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/local/kde460/lib/kde4/plugins:/usr/lib64/qt/plugins

Any idea what do I need to do/check/set so KDE load the backends?

Many thanks,
Carlos.

Try removing ~/.local/Trolltech.conf

Also, try opening the dialog from a console as follows, and examine the output:
Code: Select all
kcmshell4 phonon

Hi,

I don't have the file: ~/.local/Trolltech.conf

the command kcmshell4 phonon executed from Konsole produces no messages.

I also move all the messages that the console gets when starting X and KDE. There is nothing about phonon.

The list is empty even if kde is ran by root.

Many thanks in advance.

Oops, that should have been ~/.config/Trolltech.conf
