Open images with OpenGL Viewer directly?

Is there any way to have a file open directly, using the OpenGL Viewer (from the kipi plugins)?

I ask this because Gwenview, on its own, doesn't scale images well. If I go to Plugins > Tools > OpenGL Viewer, I can scale images smoothly and quickly, even on a lower-end machine. No pixelation whatsoever.

The problem is that this requires opening Gwenview first, then manually launching the OpenGL Viewer from the plugins list.

If possible, is there a way to create a shortcut or an "Open With..." menu item to use the OpenGL Viewer directly?

I tried "gwenview --help" but it gave no such hints of passing a kipi plugin as an argument.
