two screensaver programs?

Can someone please tell me why I have 2 screensaver programs? I have screen saver - KDE Control Module and XScreenSaver. What is the difference between them?

Are they both running? KDE's screensaver system is the one you want, since it integrates with KDE, uses the KDE screen locker interface, and allows for additional screensavers provided by KDE. It should be able to use the screensavers provided by xscreensaver as well as its own. If you just have xscreensaver installed but are not using it, it is probably so it provides these additional screensavers.

How would I check? I am not sure. It doesn't seem like either is.
