We are developing a game that uses Phonon to display videos and are running into some trouble playing them, here are the symptoms:
When Phonon tries to launch the video we get an error message saying -"no filter could be found to play the media stream" Also, when we try to manually download a video from the video repository on the server they come down with the name: "myVideo.wmv.avi - for some reason the avi suffix is added to the wmv file. We have created unique sets of videos for Mac OS and Windows XP. The Mac videos play sporadically, and the P.C. videos played at first, and now no longer play at all. On the PC side the videos have been converted using QuickTime Pro to make wmvs, we've also tried a Danusoft converter with the same results. ANy help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, James |

The error message in question likely comes from the platform backend itself. Please ensure you are including the appropriate Phonon plugins along with the application - and that the videos play fine in the platform native player (Quicktime for Mac, Windows Media Player on Windows)
