Hi, when I boot my system and KDE starts kmix, kmix consumes 100% CPU indefinitely. So I now kill it and run without it.
But this is suboptimal as I now have to manually start something else (like alsamix or gamix) to adjust the volume and cannot use the volume knob on my keyboard. Is there some way that I can diagnose what's going on and fix it? I'm running openSUSE 11.4 on a Dell XPS studio with an i7 Quad core CPU. Linux ginger2 2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2011-04-25 21:48:33 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Thanks, David. |

Please ignore this. I always do a search for similar issues _before_ posting but this time didn't. A quick search has revealed others with the same issue and the fix was to remove kmix config files:
.kde4/share/config/kmixctrlrc .kde4/share/config/kmixrc .kde4/share/apps/kmix Now it is working fine. I did keep copies of these files if it would help someone diagnose the issue (assuming that no-one has yet). |
