Hello.
I'm pretty new to kde - have been using gnome for as long as I can remember. kde ver. 4.7.2 on Kubuntu 11.10 everything working fine, but two or three times I have lost all sound. Sometimes a reboot will restore it, and sometimes not. It's fine now, but just wondering if anyone has an idea what may be causing that. I tried removing my .pulse folder and rebooting but it doesn't seem to solve it when it happens. the distro is fully updated. |

Under normal circumstances, can you check to see if "pulseaudio" is running on your computer?
If it is, then when sound fails, check to see if it is still running. If you normally have it, and it is not running when sound ceases working, try using Konsole to execute "pulseaudio &".

thanks for replying bcooksley,
yes, when playing anything, the pulseaudio service is running. http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshots/view. ... titled.png I haven't had the problem since I posted, like I say it has only happened two or 3 times out of the blue, but I will check it again if I have the same failure and try "pulseaudio &" I'll let you know if it happens again... |
