Hi, I am learning Maxima with cantor but I have a problem when I try to plot something. When I write

, I get the message

Did I forget to install some package so I can plot?

For plotting whit the maxima backend, you need eps support, which comes with the libspectre library, which should be provided by most distributions.
If the problem persists, maybe you could send me the complete output of cantor that you get when you try to plot? Please run "kdebugdialog" and enable everything cantor related there, and then run cantor to get detailed debugging output.

plot-options-parser: unknown plot option: [psfile,"/tmp/kde-riri/cantor_maxima-wX4395.eps"] -- an error. To debug this try: debugmode(true);
I have kde-4.12.2 trusty
But I could use it some weeks ago ?

Can you try running Cantor in a terminal to see if any relevant output is printed?
