Folks,

OS: Fedora 16 (64-bit)

Problem: Periodically, with no input from me, I will get the following dialog warning:

Error - KTimeTracker
/home/myhome/.kde/share/apps/ktimetracker/ktimetracker.ics:
Could not save. Disk full?

My current drive space for /home is:
/dev/mapper/vg_myoffice-lv_home 863G 51G 770G 7% /home

I just recently updated my machine, below are the updates that were implemented:
Note 1: The problem didn't start until after these updates
Note 2: I shouldn't have had to, but I rebooted anyway.

I pathed to the problem directory [/home/myhome/.kde/share/apps/ktimetracker] and found this:
-rw-rw-r--. 1 john john 10508 May 12 15:55 ktimetracker.ics
-rw-rw-r--. 1 john john 10508 May 12 15:55 ktimetracker.ics~

It appears as if the ktimetracker.ics file is open somewhere on the system. As far as I know, I don't use it. The only calendar I'm concerned with is my Gmail calendar that I have connected within Thunderbird. I just tested it out by adding some test cases and it's working great (i.e. after an entry within Thunderbird, I can see the entry on my Android - within seconds).

Is this particular .ics file used by Thunderbird and associated Gmail calendars? But more importantly, how do I rid my system of this annoying error?

Thank you!

Have you checked permissions of this file?

Wizard,
The permissions are in my original post. 644 or -rw-rw-r--
Do you think they are incorrect? I don't want to elevate them if I don't have to. What are the permissions on your system for these files?

Thanks,
John

Ah, sorry, the permissions are OK, I haven't noticed them. Does any other application report simmilar issue?
You can also check df -i output, to be sure. If that's OK too, I would say it is some kind of error, maybe strace would tell you more.

Wizard,
My /home drive space was ALSO mentioned in my original post

My current drive space for /home is:
/dev/mapper/vg_myoffice-lv_home 863G 51G 770G 7% /home

Did you READ IT??? Geeeeeeez!!!

I'm sorry, but now I'm getting a bit TICKED OFF. You've responded TWICE to my error asking questions that have already been answered in the ORIGINAL POST!

Now, others will see that this post has aleady been answered and likely not look at it.

Thanks!

Output from df -i is not included in your original post. You could also notice magical "sorry" in my former message. Since you responded with insults, EOT from my side.

First and foremost, I did not insult you. I stated that I was getting "TICKED OFF" - It appeared to me as if you were asking me questions already provided.

Second: Mea culpa on the df -i, I gave you df -h. I'm not sure if df -i would've yielded any different results. I'm not at home now so i can't provide. So we each have one tick against us now.

If you felt insulted, then I humbly apologize.

The command "df -i" provides usage information for inodes. Every file and folder on your system must be represented by an inode for it to exist. Your system could have plenty of free disk space - yet be out of disk inodes - and therefore unable to create new files on the system.
