How do I prevent Kate from losing plugins

Kate randomly seems to lose what plugins are enabled quite frequently (i.e., once a day). It is pretty certain to occur, but not limited to, logging off with Kate up.

I have to go back into Kate, Settings -> Configure Kate -> Plugins, and re-add them. The settings for those plugins seems to be remembered.

I've been googling off/on for solutions since the beginning of the year. I've tried creating a session(s), saving them as the default. I add the plugins, Save, Save as Default. When none of that worked. I deleted all but the default. I add plugins, Save.

How do I prevent Kate from losing plugins?

Kate is my favorite editor.

Thank you.

Does this occur under a new user? It sounds like Kate isn't saving its state correctly on logoff.

Unfortunately it happens more than just logoff. Kate will be up and running, minimized, and maybe I switch away, comes back, and the plugin's are gone. Or open a second occurrence of Kate, and their gone. And of course, logout with Kate up.

It seems plugin options are maintained, except for one plugin, Tab Bar. I have the Location set to Top. Randomly it loses that option and appears at the bottom. This can occur independently of losing all plugins. I can't say for sure what triggers the lose of plugins or the Tab Bar losing Location Top. I can say, I can count on it happening at least once a day where I have to go to Kate -> Settings -> Configure Kate -> Application -> Plugins and enable them again. The Tab Bar, I click the little wrench on the right side of the Tab Bar plugin, and change Location back to Top.

I wish I could be more specific when it occurs, but it usually happens when I'm in the middle of something. :o

Kate -> Help -> About
Kate 3.3.5/KDE 4.3.5

rpm -qi kate
Version: 4.3.5 Vendor: openSUSE

OpenSUSE 11.2

Thank you.

I can confirm this, iirc it happens when kde restarts but retains them if kate is closed and then reopened

There is a bug report for this, with a lot of duplicates: bug #156330.
