Running KDE 4.2.4 over MandrivaLinux I get the following error message when trying to configure KPilot calendar: "Akonadi not operational" (using the Akonadi server self-test). When I click on "Details", there is a message of "No Resource Agents found".
I started out by setting the environment variable to "/usr/share/sip/PyKDE4/akonadi" in .bash_profile - this is where all the files with the word "agent" in them appear so I'm guessing it's the right place. Then I read the discussion here on "no Resources Found" and realized that there is no path: /opt/kde/share:' in KDE4 There is a path '/usr/share:/opt/kde3/share:' but putting those in the environment variable XDG_DATA_DIRS yields no different result. Any suggestions? |

4.2.4 is old - please update to the latest you can get.
You need nepomuk running, but strigi doesn't need to be running. Check in System Settings (Configure your Desktop?) These pages should help: http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting http://userbase.kde.org/KAddressBook http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_and_AddressBook Those 'opt' paths refer to Mandriva's offering to run KDE3 and KDE4 - forget about them. They are no part of your problem. If you go through the whole of those four pages you should find everything you need to get it running. If you get any error messages while setting up, post back here. But don't forget to tell us whether you managed to update your KDE
