Auto spell check gets disabled in Kopete (likely a feature)

This is most likely a feature, but I'm wondering if it can be avoided.

When typing on kopete (I haven't tried this anywhere else), after typing a series of 'misspelt' words, the auto-spell checking gets disabled (or rather it no longer highlights spelling mistakes, even though the 'Auto Spell Check' option remains selected). Only way to turn it on again is to dis-select and select it again. I'm assuming this was done either as part of some auto-language detection, or to avoid annoying the user.

The thing is, I often type in Greeklish (Greek with Latin characters) with some of my contacts. This causes the spell checker to be disabled on those tabs. However, I prefer it staying enabled, since I often slip some english in there and I like it to work. I know it's not such a big deal, but just checking if anyone knows if it's possible.

To summarise: Is there a way to prevent Auto Spell Check from getting (auto ;) )-disabled?

thanks

it's not a major thing, but doesn't anyone have a suggestion? Am I the only one affected by this?

You may wish to file a bug report at bugs.kde.org if you can reproduce under a new user.

Thanks, I've filed a bug on this: Kopete Auto Spell Check stops functioning after inputting several spelling mistakes

Add your input there if you are also affected by this.

PS: I've tried this on a fresh install of Kubuntu 10.04.1 (under VM) with KDE 4.5.0 from ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
