Hi All,
When I first installed my system (Mepis R11) the KDE Wallet started asking to remember passwords. At the time I wasn't comfortable with it and so I somehow got it to leave me alone. But now I've learned more about security and I'm excited to use the KDE wallet to remember passwords for websites and for local software, but I don't know how to get it started again. Would it be safe to delete the existing wallet and create two new ones, one for internet passwords and another for local? How do I get firefox to play nicely with the wallet? It is KDE 4.5.3 installed on Mepis 11 RC1 Best, Chris |

For the Firefox component, the following extension should do the job: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... ntegratio/
You certainly can have two wallets. First, go to System Settings > Account Details > KDE Wallet, and tick "Enable the KDE Wallet subsystem". Then, create two new wallets and assign them appropriately, making sure to tick "Different wallet for local passwords". Finally, you can use KWalletManager to delete the old original wallet.

Thanks for the pointer. Unfortunately that extension doesn't seem to work with Firefox 4.0 yet, but I'm sure it'll catch up at some point... Chris |
