When I moved from Korganizer 4.4 to 4.6, old, deleted tasks started coming up again (it is possible that this is related to moving from TB Lightning to KOrganizer 4.4 a month or two before).
I have deleted those tasks probably 5 times now. I have tried to exit out of KOrganizer (it is normally running in the background from startup). It also doesn't remember when I delete a broken calendar entry. Can I do anything to force it to remember the changes? This might be related to killing akonadi processes because they were paralyzing my system for 5 min and more with huge memory consumption when I tried to fetch mail with Kmail. I stopped doing this when I realized it led to data loss. (See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=95677 ) KOrganizer also doesn't remember the last amount of time I entered to repeat reminders. Say a reminder comes up and you set it to come up again in 15 min. 4.4 used to remember those 15 min when the reminder appears again so I can just click "remind in 15 min" again. 4.6 always resets this to 5 min. But this might be a regression not related to my problem. EDIT: This is 4.6.4 on openSUSE 11.4 EDIT2: I notice that when I exit out of KOrganizer and start it again, it remembers changes. It is different when I reboot my system. Then KOrganizer will be magically reset. |

This may be a result of an incompatibility between versions; I have Kontact 4.4.10 on KDE 4.6.0 running on openSUSE 11.4 and I have had none of these problems.

So you are saying there might be compatibility problems between KDE 4.6 and KDEPIM 4.6?

This problem is bad because it means I can't put any new appointments on my calendar. Does anyone have an idea?
When Plasma doesn't remember positions and settings of plasmoids, you can restart it and at the same time force it to remember. Might there be a similar way with KOrganizer? |

Ok is there maybe any way that I can reset KOrganizer and reimport everything? Anybody reading along, any ideas? I would really hate to have to go back to Thunderbird after I put so much work into the migration.
Thanks! |

Ok, I have to correct myself. It seems that KOrganizer does accept new appointments. It just doesn't let me delete anything, including tasks that I had deleted months ago and that suddenly resurfaced.
Might this be a new clue? |
