I have got a same problem from here, I think.

only for imap account, in "inbox", I have only 1 message but kmail display 9 (ghosts ?) messages.



old message are automatly moved to other folder after 30 days.

I have this problem, on 2 computer, from same imap account (ni problem with pop account) under kubuntu 11.04, KDE SC 4.7 and kmail 4.7.


I can see nothing, about taht, in my .xsession-errors.

Are these messages correctly expunged on the IMAP server?

yes, all messages are correctly expunged on the IMAP server.

I moved 2 messages form inbox to thrash and I empty it.

I can see this old 2 messages in my thrash again. the are become ghost too...



note : never problem with kmail 1.x before with this imap account...

Does it occur with other IMAP accounts, or with other types of accounts?

no, just with this account.

edit : same problem on my laptop with this account (same kubuntu/KDE/Kmail version)

Hi (sorry for my bad english !)

I make a test with my gmail account. I add it, in kmail, as imap account.

for test, I deleted message to thrash and empty it.

after few minutes, I can see again this message as "ghost" message"...

edit : this message isn't delete on imap server.

I come back to few minutes after more tests....

edit2 : I active option => purge folder automatically.

and it's ok now.
