At the moment I am seeing a strange GUI bug, when I try to use a drop-down menu in Tellico.
http://i.imgur.com/LRYSu.png In the above screenshot, the words "No Text" have replaced the correct menu titles. In some cases, when clicking on "No Text" the menu does not appear at all: http://i.imgur.com/dLW10.png This problem has not occurred with any other KDE or QT applications I use. KDE version: 4.9.5 (Note: Problem also occurred with KDE 4.9.3) Tellico version: 2.3.6 If you need any other system information, let me know.

Hmmm, that's a bit tough for me to debug. The UI strings come from the tellicoui.rc file. Did you install from a pre-packaged binary, or did you compile yourself? You might try to make sure an old version of tellicoui.rc is not hanging around somewhere. You can see which file is being used by Tellico using the command

Hmm...Your suggestion fixed the GUI problem completely...until I adjusted the toolbar settings... First, I deleted the "tellicoui.rc" file and then restarted Tellico. The menu titles were restored. But then the GUI problem occurred again. After I went to Settings > Configure Toolbars, I removed the "Search" button from the Tellico toolbar. As soon as I clicked "OK" the file menu titles were replaced by "No Text." I found this bug strange, because I've always removed the "Search" button from the Tellico toolbar and never had any problems before... Update 1 I tried running Tellico from a terminal emulator (Konsole) and noticed these two error messages:
Update 2 To answer your question, I installed my copy of Tellico from this software repository: https://launchpad.net/~dominik-stadler/ ... uantal-ppa |

OK, with that info, I just reproduced it. At a first glance, if you edit your tellicoui.rc that's now in your home .kde directory, change all the noMerge="1" to noMerge="0". You may get some extra buttons at that point, but you'll get your menu text back. I don't know the cause of this. I can't tell if it's really a Tellico bug or something in the KDE libs yet. |

Turns out a recent bugfix in KDE exposed an improper way that Tellico was editing the toolbar. Thanks to Albert Astals Cid inn https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306258, Tellico's next version will have a fix. Thanks for reporting the issue. |

I'm glad to hear that you were able to reproduce the bug and have determined what was causing it. (thanks for KDE bug tracker link) In addition, thank you for the quick responses and plan to fix this bug in the next release of Tellico. |
