Tellico Print / Report Output

Wed Jan 09, 2013 4:11 am
Hi all + robby. thx so much for tellico. i am not a coder, and don't understand XSL formatting, but did look at the the file.
What I'm trying to do is print output of my book collection so that it includes ISBN, LC numbers and date (publication).
So far, it seems that the default report/template only prints title and author. Collection is only approx. 200 books.
Any suggestions to go about this?? Take Care.

Any chance it got corrupted? Anything happen the last time you saved it that might have caused it to be truncated? Depending on your settings, you may have a .tc~ file in the same location that is your back up file. You could rename it and see if it will open.

Hi. Sorry for delay. *Thanks for the info!!* Yes, the .tc file is/was corrupt, which is why I asked here on 15 Jan. Now, thanks to your info I have managed to load the .tc~ file, which previously I was unaware of. Whheeww!! Have not lost my db; yet! But exactly *how* to I manage to
print my book list with the fields I need?? The default merely gives title/author. Google, forums, and his site all refer to the
"...complex .xslt or .xsl file..." which may be edited if one is knowledgeable enough to read/program the file. I am not a coder.
I tried export to comma-delimited Libre-Office[Calc] and MS-Excel, but in each the cells or fields do not align properly (evenly).
In any event, the fields I need to print are: Title, Author, Publisher, ISBN No., LC No., and Date. I am making a few backups of the
file so I can safely try any suggestion some coding/programming guardian angel may provide : ] Take Care.

Tellico prints whatever fields you have visible in your column view. You can right-click on the header to show or hide fields in the view.

Thanks again for your reply. Here (hope it posts) is a screenshot of open Tellico book database. Exactly which section here are you referring to as the "header". When it displayed like this before, I went to <print> <print-tellico> menu/dialogue and printed, but only output was book Title and Author. Note: Sorry, I have a screenshot, but I don't see any means of attaching it to this post. Thanks Again.

Thanks, Robby!! You are very patient --- and obviously talented. You've made the day for a crusty (62 yrs.) old man. My book collection/library is only 232 books; but they are my 'friends', and very important to me. All I can contribute is 'word of mouth' at this time, but I assure you I will recommend Tellico to all without reservation. Again, thanks & good luck! Take Care.

You're very welcome. You can also drag the columns to rearrange them as you like...
