I am beginning the import of a pile of books into Tellico and thought I had Dewey Decimal populating from ISBNDB. It now appears that the Dewey numbers are coming from LOC which seems to have a pretty low hitrate. An example is ISBN 978-0-684-83941-7 for which ISBNDB via web search lists "Dewey Class: 306.9 -- Culture & institutions " but this does not populate in my Tellico database when I try to update it. Any thoughts? (using Version 2.3.4 on Ubuntu)

I've just neglected to include Dewey data in the results from ISBNDB since the Dewey number isn't one of the default fields in a book collection for Tellico. I can certainly add it, though it might result in your having two Dewey fields, the one you defined and the one created by the importer. Also, would you expect raw Dewey or normalized? I'm not knowledgeable about the difference. http://isbndb.com/docs/api/51-books.html has an example. |

I don't actually know the difference between raw and normalized either. I suspect that normalized would suit my purposes. I mainly just want to keep track of where all my books are across sixty plus linear feet of bookshelves. The engineer in me would want every possibility of course but that part of me also tends to go overboard.
I looked a little bit at a previous similar request for LOC and at the isbndb xsl files and figure that if I knew a little bit about xsl it wouldn't be tough to add. But then again I don't know a little bit about xsl. |

Save this text as isbndb2tellico.xsl http://paste.kde.org/657818/ and either put it in .kde/share/apps/tellico/ or overwrite the isbndb2tellico.xsl that Tellico installs. See if that works for you... |

That seems to have done it. Thanks a lot.
