I am trying to create a collection of all my backup cds and dvds so I can find where files are using tellico but I can't seem to import any file listings that have .zip files in them.

Debian 7.5 xfce
Tellico 2.3.5
KDE 4.8.4

after testing I have found out it is not all .zip files but specific ones so it must be something within the files. Is there any way to turn off reading the files during import?

Can you please post the information provided by the KDE Crash Assistant's Developer Information tab?

I don't believe I have the KDE Crash Assistant's Developer Information tab under the XFCE desktop.

As an update the same zip files that would not import under Debian 7.5 xfce had no issues on another system running Xubuntu 14.04. Unfortunately tellico on the Xubuntu system crashes on many other different files. I haven't been able to try these on the Debian system yet and I haven't narrowed down all the specific files.

Is there no way to turn off the detailed scanning for certain file types during a file listing import?

Tellico uses the Nepomuk library to grab the file info. It's possible there could be something going on there. Is the KDE libs version different between your Debian 7.5 and Xubuntu 14.04 systems?

In regards to the crash assistant - it should open automatically when Tellico crashes.
If it doesn't, does /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/drkonqi or /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/drkonqi exist on your system?

Sorry I haven't responded to your questions. I am sure there are differences in the libraries and I haven't had a chance to look into the crash assistant. Between the 2 systems I was able to get file listings of the backups. I am now on to cataloging the different categories. I attempted to upgrade my Debian system to unstable because the search feature would not work but now it is not really working for tellico so I will attempt to fix that. Since I am no longer doing file listing imports my Ubuntu system is doing everything I need it to do at this time. I can test further as I get time. I am sure that you are correct though and it is all library compatibility issues since I am running non-kde libraries.

Please note that KDE applications such as Tellico are perfectly usable outside of KDE - the items I referred to above are actually executables (despite being located under /usr/lib*). The only time library incompatibility could be an issue is if you had mismatched KDE/Qt libraries for the copy of Tellico you had installed.
