There's no greater than Tellico

Thu Jun 18, 2015 6:18 am
Hello,
Astonishing : I needed it, Tellico made it possible. I can now sort entries using "greater than / smaller than" values ! And it will certainly enhance my user experience ine the future.
As for now, can anyone show me the way to the proper syntax to do this ? I tried reading the manual, the forum, and found nothing on the matter. I guess it is self evident in a way, but not enough for me. It isn't something like "contains <3" or "equals <3", but then : how do I use it ?
Thanks in advance.

In the Filter dialog, choose a field that is identified as being a Number, then the filter rule should allow you to choose greater than/less than. Does that do what you want?

Alas, the value I had in mind is a rank and is marked by stars.

Now I tried with a plain number and it works. So I can simply translate from marks to numbers. It won't be too much sweat, I can do that, and it's worth it. So : Thank You !

I need to update that function to work with ratings. As a workaround, instead of having to convert it to a number, you could do several "or" rules in the filter. For example, if you wanted >3, then you could do rating=4 OR rating=5.

That would make the use of filters too clumsy. The "stars" looked nice, but the note field type has other drawbacks too, so no thanks.
At this stage using numbers instead of stars to rate "text readability" is still possible for me.
