My main collection is made of educational material consisting of files piled up within various folders under one big "educational material" folder.
I have added custom fields to the "file collection fields" and I would like to add new entries every week and here is how I do it : I import the whole folder and try to merge it into the existing collection. The problem is : the progress bar stops at 99%.

Edit : it stops for 6 minutes (for 3000 files + 1 new file for the sake of the test). What do I do wrong ?

You likely didn't do anything wrong. At 99%, that probably means the merging algorithm is badly inefficient. I'll see about improving that, tracking it here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349410

Thank you very much, it could really improve my workflow.

After a long while, I've improved the collection merging efficiency somewhat, which will be in the version 3.2 release. In some scenarios, it's around a 400% improvement. YMMV, of course.
