Different questions

Tue Aug 02, 2016 9:51 am
Hello again :),

I have some additional questions. First: I use Tellico 2.3.5 / KDE 4.11.3 (I know, it's old), perhaps some issues are already fixed in later versions:

1) How to speedup tellico ? Loading my datafile (136 item, with 150dpi cover scans), takes a lot of time. Is it faster, when the images will saved outside the datafile in a folder ? When I change the configuration according to this, will the images of existing item automatically saved to the specified folder ?

2) Saving html from a generated a report with this datafile let's the plasma-desktop freeze or crash. It's not important, which template I use

3) Why it's not possible to setup select fields or checkboxes, so that they accept multiple values ?

best regards

Storing images in a directory is definitely much faster than saving them within the .tc data file itself. The images will be automatically put there when you save the collection after changing the configuration. I would also suggest making backups of your data file.

This is likely to be something fixed since version 2.3.5. Hard to say

I don't follow you here. By definition checkboxes don't have multiple values. You can have a Choice field with drop-down multiple allowed values. Does that help? Look at the Binding field for a book collection, for example.

OK, thanks a lot ... I will try it out...

I'm web developer and in php/html you can setup multiple checkboxes unsing an array as name for it, f.e. name="test[]", but I forgot, that's specific for PHP :)
Regarding the "Choice" field type: If I select "Choice / Auswahl (in german)", the checkbox for enabling multiple values will disabled.

best regards

Ah, now I follow you. You want multiple checkboxes grouped together. I would suggest perhaps a new Category and then an additional field for each checkbox within that Category. I think that would do what you want.
