Major Issues

Tue Oct 11, 2016 9:58 am
I spent a lot of time organizing my collection, and now have a broken heart. It looks as though most of my pictures are gone. For my recent entries they same to be there all others have just a question mark there and when I click on them I get the following error:
Code: Select all
Unable to run the command specified. The file or folder file:///tmp/kde-user/tellicoKRl81Y/0359330b993d4fa9517f34144aae8bac.jpeg does not exist.

It seems like the place the program is storing the files is just a temp location. I am wondering if its possible the systems is purging out that folder when it does maintenance.
Also please tell me the correct way to perform backups in this program I have have a couple files of what I thought were backups but they are missing quite a bit of info including the pictures. In Tellico options the default option to store pictures in the data file is set. So it should have stored the pictures in the save files I have been making.

That does seem to be the case. And Tellico definitely shouldn't do that. I'm not sure why it would. Since you have the option set to store the images in the data file, they should be compressed inside the .tc file. Can you tell me what version you're using? Perhaps, try changing the option to save the images in the same location. Then you'll have a folder with a _files suffix and all the images will stay in there. I'll look back in the code for image saving to see if I can spot the problem. Also, could you perhaps send me your ~/.kde/share/config/tellicorc file by email?

To have a self-contained backup, do File->Export Zip. That will combine all the images into the Tellico data file. It may be big, but it's a full backup.
