Tellico vs. Amazon, again?

Sat Mar 30, 2019 5:29 pm
Does importing data from Amazon use the Product Advertising API?

I've been getting errors while trying to import for a couple of days. Then, I found this: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSECommerc ... Guidelines

Effective 23-Jan-2019, the request limit for each account is calculated based on revenue performance attributed to calls to the Product Advertising API (PA API) during the last 30 days.

Each account used for Product Advertising API is allowed an initial usage limit of 8640 requests per day (TPD) subject to a maximum of 1 request per second (TPS). Your account will receive an additional 1 TPD for every 5 cents or 1 TPS (up to a maximum of 10) for every $4320 of shipped item revenue generated via the use of Product Advertising API for shipments in the last 30 days.

Note that your account will lose access to Product Advertising API if it has not generated referring sales using PA API in the last 30 days.

I'm using 3.1.2 on Ubuntu, and I have a knee-high stack of books to enter....

Yes, it does.

I'd seen something about that recently. Unfortunately, it does seem like it will affect using Amazon as a data source in Tellico for many folks, probably yourself included. Those usage restrictions are for Amazon to determine, as they see fit, obviously, as they seem to be tightening them. There are alternative sources, in Tellico, which may or may not have the data coverage that Amazon has.

I didn't even think that Amazon could have any rivals because it is the absolute winner among all the other platforms. I like Amazon because it offers great opportunities for growing your own business. I'm not just talking about dropshipping or selling handmade things. I'm talking about benefits like Helium10 Review because that's what helps me with growing my business. I analyze my competitors, build different strategies on how to present my product better, and share that with my customers. Personally, I think it's a great idea for motivated people to get results.
